British Bulldog 38 cal. type revolver. This is a Belgian proofed 38 cal. pocket revolver of the type carried by many in the Old West. After most towns forbade the open carrying of firearms the men and women found these sturdy revolvers the perfect solution to their problem. There is a great new book devoted to them. This revolver is untouched and has a great deal of pocket wear. It is functional but the ejector rod needs a little coil spring to hold it in place. The grips are worn about half way and it has a light rust patina which I liked and did not clean. This is a real Old West 70’s or 80’s survivor. Custer was carrying a pair of Bulldogs at the Little Big Horn. They were everywhere, but Colt got all the glory.
