Ketland & Co

A fine example of Ketland & Co. officer’s fusil from the 1770’s. It has deep wear to all parts but is very pleasing. The wrist checkering is half worn. It has a silver thump piece which has lost its’ engraving. The brass parts are nicely engraved. The ramrod pipes are Brown Bess style. It has a well repaired break in the stock at the front sling swivel. The breech proofs are KC, Birmingham, and Tower I think. There is another strike I do not know. The trigger guard has pineapple and splayed arms engraving.,The side plate has splayed arms.

The flint re-conversion was done very well and the Ketland lock plate is present. It has an iron ramrod. The gun is in good repair.

I offer this gun at about half the price of an original flintlock. No attempt has been made to conceal re-conversion.
