Frontier Gunsmith Recreation of Pieper Carbine

This primitive relic is a gunsmith’s recreation of a Pieper Carbine. It was made from a frontier double action sold in the 1880’s and 1890’s in 44 & 45 caliber. It has a homemade barrel and a reshaped grip frame. This is a true relic and is not functional. The Pieper is a complex revolver which looks a lot like this relic but the difference is very great.
This gun was made by a Mexican gunsmith and turned up in Arizona. I have included photos of the revolver from a 1897 Sears Roebuck Catalogue. This was likely the source of the revolver. 850.00

COLT ARMY RELIC REVOLVER 1860

This relic Colt Army revolver was found near Mesa, Arizona. It is missing its’ loading lever. Some parts move and the rusting is a bit of a puzzlement. The serial number is present, but you cannot see the numbers on other parts.

It has a great story, but it is silent. We often attribute these heavily used arms to the Apache out here. They used their arms pretty well up. I make no claims, but these are the guns that were really used in the west and not hiding in a chest of drawers for 150 years.
