Chief’s Rifle

This is a chief’s treaty rifle made by J Henry and Sons. It is perhaps the finest one available for sale. It is mounted with nickel silver and is in very fine condition. It is not mint but it is not far from it. The trigger guard and butt plate are iron as is the original ramrod. It has a US mark back of the trigger guard which has been damaged but is partially visible. The ramrod is fit to the rifle so that it will not rattle because of a swell in the rod at the point that it passes through the ramrod pipe. See the photo. It has a double set trigger and nickel silver front site. I know of one other Treaty rifle for sale which has a fancy eagle patch box but it is missing the iron ramrod and has some other problems. I have priced this one $1000. lower.
